Pre-School

We fill our days allowing the children to learn through their play with activities such as stories, phonics, number games, music, art & craft and cooking sessions.  We are fortunate enough to have a wonderful environment from which the children can play and learn, inside and out.

Outside the children can interact with nature on woodland excursions, as well as helping tend our edible garden, enjoying the mud kitchen, feeling the animals, collecting eggs and most importantly enjoying the great outdoors.

During our sessions inside we use a wide variety of materials so the children can benefit from multisensory experiences, from which to learn about the world around them. Using materials such as sand, rocks, water, clay, fabric, wood and through painting, sculpting, play with mirrors and light, music and movement your child will enjoy exploring learning and have lots of fun!

We encourage our preschool children to be as independent as possible in all areas to prepare them for a smooth transition to school.

The staff ratio for 3-5 year olds is one member of staff to eight children. As in the baby and toddler rooms, your child will be allocated a key worker which we believe promotes emotional stability, health and wellbeing for both you and your child.  We keep you updated through our ‘Famly’ app throughout the day and upload photos to help document your child’s development.  We have weekly reflection meetings to help plan the following week. At the end of the nursery day your key worker will share this information with you.
