Nursery Manager

The Old Dairy Farm Nursery are looking for a passionate, motivated and inspirational Manager, who will be focused on Learning, Teaching & Development.

They will lead and maintain an exciting child led approach to education, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.

They will report to the Nursery Director and work closely alongside the Management team to ensure the highest standard of care and education for all children.

ODFN is a family run nursery, set on our own working farm. We have a large garden with chickens, an edible garden, outside play facilities and a forest school located in our nearby woods.

The Learning & Training Manager will have responsibility for, coordinating the Pedagogy across the nursery, creating an inspiring and beautiful environment which serves as a third teacher in children’s learning. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively lead a team.

The Learning and Training Manager is not an office-based role, you will be expected to work in rooms to support, develop and train our team, ensuring high quality practice is carried out at all times.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Alongside the management team; ensure all operational elements of the nursery are running smoothly and children, parents and staff’s needs are being met.

To build and maintain excellent relationships with parents.

Ensure that Nursery Policies and Procedures are maintained, that children, parents and the staff team work together at all times to provide high quality childcare.

To be the settings DSL; monitoring any safeguarding issues following local authority procedures.

To be the settings SEN support

To ensure that the nursery consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum good standard.

To be responsible for implementing systems of observation and record keeping so that children’s attainment and progress are effectively and regularly assessed; to monitor the effectiveness of assessment procedures on Famly and ensure tracking and observations are kept up to date.

Manage own time to complete tasks effectively, prioritising workload and delegating tasks to senior management team. Monitor and evaluate progress of delegated tasks, providing constructive feedback.

To contribute and participate in the development of new ideas.

To keep up to date on all current childcare issues.

To actively welcome new enquiries and visits from prospective parents.

To manage daily communication with nursery parents, answering queries and offering re-assurance when necessary.

To implement and maintain the company’s Equality policy ensuring that children, parents and the staff team are valued, and practice is positive and non-discriminatory.

Starting salary £32,000 - £35,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience). To apply please send your CV with a covering letter.

Working hours: 0715 - 1830 Monday - Friday - 51 weeks of the year. 41 hours per week

You must hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
